4/5/2024 0 Comments Can't install chipset drivers![]() I've reseated the cables. I used the brand new IDEs that came in the package, but the drives are what were originally with the system. If I highlight one and hit enter, it says 'file size doesn't match' and that's all I get.), and the. Q-flash won't work with them (it shows me the files, but does nothing. ![]() I even went so far as to go to Gigabyte and download the chipset drivers, extract them, and stick them on a floppy. Messed in BIOS to make sure the CD drive is set to be the 2nd boot device (after floppy.) I see them light, hear them spin, but can't read the disk from Gigabyte to install the chipset. I tried booting off of floppy with CD ROM drivers, but they won't install. So I have to do it in DOS, no prob.except the computer won't read the CD ROMs. In this case, I get a BSOD, which is probably related to the hardware change. I know I need to install the chipset drivers, but I was trying to do it in Windows since the CD supports it. So I installed the MOBO in an old DIT case and it boots almost into Windows. Picked up a nice Gigabyte 945gz MOBO with a compatible CPU (a kit), added RAM and fan to the order, and the price was still pretty nice. That's pretty much the long and the short of it.
